The beginning: New language learning methods
11 Years ago, Willem Koper, founder of Back Up Line, after years of teaching in company classes introduced a new language learning method in Barcelona: Telephone practice to work rather than study a language. language at their own convenience, and also learned to use it the way most of them were need to use it: on the telephone, for business telephone calls.
Effective language learning: Immersion weekend
From a language school with telephone practice sessions, throughout the years Back Up Line has developed into a highly sophisticated language institution. Not only giving in-company language courses to various enterprises, but also auditing their human resources on effective staff training courses, organising immersion weekends for management teams when really necessary. During an immersion weekend finishing on Sunday at lunchtime, a limited group of students are accommodated in our luxurious apartment in Barcelona, with a full-time, team of teachers to help them learn a new language during their stay. During the immersion weekend, the only language spoken is the target language. The immersion course can also be booked for a half or full week. This method has proven to be very effective and forms a regular treat for executives of several multinationals.

Now, eleven years later, we are still one of Barcelona’s leading translation and language course companies. Back Up Line supplies various leading companies and organisations in small and large scale translation assignments. We provide interpretation services at conventions of the CCOB.
